Denver – Congressman Jason Crow and Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib released the following statements regarding the third anniversary of the attempted insurrection on January 6th:
“January 6 was one of the darkest days in US history. MAGA extremism incited a violent mob, and today, its corrupting influence continues to pervade across America. It’s time for renewed political courage. I’m calling for a new American patriotism that helps us win the battle for our democracy and puts an end to the political extremism that has gripped our country.” said Congressman Jason Crow.
“The attempted insurrection on January 6th will forever remain a dark stain on our nation’s history, and ensuring it never happens again shouldn’t be a red or blue issue: this is an American issue. Unfortunately for our state, the MAGA far-right running the Colorado GOP have totally kowtowed to Donald Trump and his vision of an America with fewer freedoms, elections that are harder to vote in, and one where we have all turned against each other. Colorado is lucky to be home to heroes like Congressman Jason Crow, who helped his colleagues to safety on that dark day, and for the voters of Colorado who have rejected MAGA extremism up and down the ballot. This is not a time to be complacent, and we welcome every Democrat, unaffiliated voter, and Republican disgusted by the attempts to undermine our democracy to join us in protecting our freedoms and condemning the events of January 6th.” said CDP Chair, Shad Murib.
