The Weld County Democratic Party is inviting local Democrats to take part in its 2026 caucus and county assembly, where community members will help shape the future of the party and decide which candidates move forward to the Democratic primary ballot.
In Weld County, registered Democrats will meet virtually for their county caucus on Saturday, March 7, 2026 and in-person at county assembly on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Double Tree Hilton in Greeley. At these meetings, Democrats will elect local party leaders, choose delegates, and vote on which candidates will appear on the June 30
Democratic primary ballot.
“The caucus and assembly process is a way for everyday Democrats have a real say in what our party stands for and who represents us,” said Jeri Shepherd, County Chair. “People in our community can step forward, get involved, and help shape the direction of the Democratic Party in Weld County and across Colorado.”
Caucus and assembly are open to registered Democrats and offers several ways to take part, including becoming a delegate, serving as a precinct organizer, or helping run elections as an election judge.
To help voters learn how the process works and find the right information for their area, the Colorado Democratic Party has launched a new statewide Caucus and Assembly website at Coloradodems.org/caucus. The site includes plain-language explanations of the process, key dates, and ways to get involved at both the county and state level.
To participate in the Weld County caucus and assembly, voters must be registered as Democrats by Friday, February 13, 2026.
