2025 Weld Democratic Party Reorganization Meetings: Election Procedures
Ballots for County Officers, State and Congressional District Positions:
Printed ballots will be prepared for the county officers and bonus member positions. Names may be added at the Feb. 8 meeting. Go to the Weld Dems website

wd.centralcomm@gmail.com to submit your name and the specific position in which you are interested.

carollburk@gmail.com. Names received after Thursday, Feb. 6 will be announced at the meeting. Ballot distribution and counting will be conducted by the County Central Committee Election Board. Election board members will not participate in distribution or counting of ballots on which they are listed as candidates.
Election of Commissioner and Legislative District Officers and Platform Committee Members:
Names of candidates may be submitted in advance of the meeting. All candidates will be announced at the meeting. Nominations may also be made from the floor at the specific district central committee meeting. In the event there are two or more candidates for an officer or platform committee position, ballots will be distributed by the Election Board, which will conduct the election.
To assist candidates who wish to seek office, the following applies:
- Each candidate for county or district officer (but not bonus member positions) must have a nominator and a Of those two, one must be a member of the appropriate central committee.
- No letter of intent is Nominations for officer or platform committee may be made from the floor on the day of the meeting.
- Each candidate is elected individually (no slates are permitted)
- Each candidate for county officer will have 5 minutes to address the body (including the nominating, seconding and acceptance speeches).
- Candidates for bonus member positions must have submitted their names by Thursday, 6 or signed up for the ballot at the Election Board table by 9:30 am on Feb. 8th. Additional candidates may be accepted after the deadline only if an insufficient number of candidates have applied.
- Candidates for state and congressional bonus positions will have 30 seconds to introduce
- Each Commissioner and House District will have 20 minutes to conclude their Time limits for officer nominations will be announced in the district meetings.
- The group of Congressional District bonus members elected must be as close to gender-balanced as possible. Congressional district bonus members will be elected by county central committee members who live in each CD.
- Each House District Central Committee must elect one member to serve on the state platform committee. As Weld County’s only single-county district, House District 50 will elect one platform committee member on Feb 8th.
- Each candidate may request from County Party Headquarters a list of central committee members with contact information.

Meeting was called to order at 10am by Bev Wallace, Chair. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Quorum was reached and exceeded.
Bev W., gave introduction and Zoom instructions.
Agenda was approved. Ken Clark presented an overview. Nominations for Officer positions. Bev Wallace nominated for Chair, Pat Bruner for Vice-Chair, Julie Elmquist 2nd Vice-Chair, Teresa Hallenbeck, Secretary. Patricia (Trisha) Nelson offered to step forward for Treasurer, she was then nominated by Jerad Sutton.
Nominations for State Executive Committee (SEC) Bonus Members are on the ballot. Nominations for State Central Bonus Members (see ballot).
