Senate Debate

October 14 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, Democratic Sen. John Hickenlooper will debate his Republican challenger, state Sen. Mark Baisley, at an event hosted by Metropolitan State University of Denver at the Auraria campus.

The debate will air from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on KTVD and stream on 9NEWS.

Clark, along with 9NEWS political and investigative reporter Marshall Zellinger, will moderate the debate.

Hickenlooper has represented Colorado in the U.S. Senate since 2021. He won the Democratic primary in June, defeating state Sen. Julie Gonzales.

Before his Senate election, Hickenlooper served as Colorado’s governor from 2011 to 2019 and as Denver’s mayor from 2003 to 2011.

Baisley is a state senator from Woodland Park. He previously served in the Colorado House of Representatives and is the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate. He ended his gubernatorial campaign earlier this year to run for the Senate seat.

Baisley currently represents Colorado’s 4th Senate District, which includes parts of several counties in central Colorado.

The on-campus U.S. Senate debate is not open to the public.
