SUMMARY:Weld County Fracking and Pollution: Action Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join a multi-organization effort for an interactive event near Windsor\, CO on Saturday\, June 6th from 12-3:30pm MT to see the issues of fracking firsthand!\nJoin 350 Colorado and Earthworks for a firsthand tour of fracking activity and its many negative impacts near Windsor\, Colorado. Participants will learn about and use infrared technology to observe oil & gas fracking equipment and infrastructure including any uncontrolled pollution we may find during the tour. We will also address the cumulative impacts of the high concentration of wells in Weld County and learn about the limitations and challenges of meaningful regulation by our state and local governments. Together\, we will explore how we can advocate for disproportionately impacted Coloradans and hold oil & gas producers accountable! \nBy using the technology and field expertise of Earthworks and the movement building power of 350 Colorado\, this Action Tour will give participants a chance to not only experience the issues\, but to take meaningful action together with other concerned activists and community members\, forming a stronger climate movement in Colorado and beyond. \n(Because this is a limited participant opportunity registrations will be on a first come\, first serve basis until all spots are filled. Minimum age requirement to participate is 15 years old. You will be notified 1-2 weeks before the action tour date of your participation or if you have been waitlisted for the next one.
