The time is now. Your YES vote for 5A and 5B on November 5th is so important for the future of our students and our amazing community.

Johnstown and Milliken are thriving towns that are growing at an increasing rate. New subdivisions are under construction that will welcome families to our inviting communities. The property tax increase proposed through the Bond and Mill Levy Override initiatives is approximately $28 a month. However, because of the growth rate in both towns, this will help decrease the projected amount in consecutive years. Our teachers spend a minimum of $250 a year of their own money on supplies and materials for students and classrooms. They are committed to the excellence and success of our students with kind hearts and exceptional credibility. We must be equally committed.

The Best grant awarded to our district from marijuana taxes must be matched or we lose this incredible opportunity because it comes with the condition that the community will match the funds to improve schools. Construction costs increase each year and if we do not successfully pass our Bond and Mill Levy Override this election it puts our schools and community at a huge disadvantage for future opportunities to build. Remember a tax payer supported your right and possibly your children’s to a quality education that opened doors to opportunities for success and pursuit of the American Dream. Education and equitable resources are key to this vision.

Please join me in “Supporting our Schools” by voting YES on 5A and 5B this election. Let’s invest in our future by investing in the heartbeat of our community: Letford Elementary, Pioneer Ridge Elementary, Milliken Elementary, Knowledge Quest Academy, Milliken Middle School, and Roosevelt High Schools. Mail in ballots drop October 14.
